About Meeting Standards
Empowering SMEs through standardisation
Meeting Standards is a European initiative created by SBS, dedicated to helping Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises(SMEs) understand and benefit from standardisation.
Our goal is to:
- Increase awareness: Empower SMEs by highlighting the importance of standardisation and its impact on their businesses.
- Foster engagement: Encourage SME participation in the standards development process.
- Share knowledge: Keep SMEs informed about the latest standardisation developments relevant to their industries.
- Build community: Connect SMEs and standardisation organisations across Europe.
How it works
Our annual campaign, held once a year for one week, features a variety of events organised by standardisation bodies and SME organisations throughout Europe. These events provide opportunities for SMEs to learn, network, and contribute to shaping industry standards.

SBS Awards 2026
The SBS Awards Ceremony is a new and permanent feature of the Meeting Standards Initiative created by Small Business Standards. Held for the first time on 29 June 2026 in Brussels, the ceremony celebrates outstanding contributions to SME-inclusive standardisation, recognising both the individuals and the European standards that have made a measurable difference for small businesses across Europe.
